Description

A new full-length for 2007 from England’s most inspirational ambient/noise cabal. With “Mother of Blood” EMIT once again produces a work of irrefutable power and atmosphere but this time takes a totally unique approach to his art form. The deepest, darkest, most spiritual ambient ever conceived.

Completed in Sweden at the same time as the forthcoming Ante Cryst EP, this is the first release to feature most fully the complete EMIT line-up, now including members of Reverorum ib Malacht.

“Mother of Blood” is more transcendental than any other Emit release. It is cavernous dark ambient with a heavy spiritual atmosphere. The text and music are firmly rooted in the Gnostic belief of the aborted Demiurge’s tragic, flawed creation of this material world, and the Mother’s fundamental role within it and within us.

Warm droning guitars; tribal ritualistic drums; obscure organs… A corrupted sermon.
The cathedral walls melt, the sky is torn open and drops of blood as blinding light pour onto our faces. This is Emit and his tribute to the Mother of Blood, Sophia, and a judgement on the false creator God and the failed material world.

Presented on CD for the clearest performance as each intricate phase of the recording flows towards you, lifting your spirit and stirring the divine spark.

The booklet will present each track with a specific text, written by Unknown Ikon during a period of illumination and great inspiration. U.I. has said they are his greatest and most meaningful lyrics (although most are never spoken). It will be accompanied with artwork reflecting the music visually.
