Review: Sleeping Peonies - Rose Curl, Sea Swirl

The term “Black Metal Art” is thrown around quite a lot, though in the case of SLEEPING PEONIES it is an accurate description in all senses. The band resides in the East of England & consists of one main sole member……a welcome discovery for those looking to find outstanding Black Metal from the UK, as in my case. All elements of “Rose Curl, Sea Swirl” reflect a pensive, expressive and artistic approach; from the dreamy sensitively created atmospheres, nostalgic yet pleasingly melancholic CD artwork, to the beautiful & profound poetic lyrics. SLEEPING PEONIES combines a number of genre styles and influences resulting in an individual and creatively rich sound. It is possible to hear a number of influences throughout the release, however SLEEPING PEONIES has a strongly formed character as their imaginative moniker and track-titles would suggest. The... Nuit Noire Infantile Espieglery last copies

If you visited the distro looking for it recently, you will have noticed Infantile Espieglery was unavailable. We have a few extra copies now available: Nuit Noire – Infantile Espieglery. Other shops, distros have copies but it is becoming increasingly rare. We do not plan to let this fade away. Still as impressive and fresh as it was when Tenebras first sent it that autumn, and remains very important for the label and personally. This means a reissue, possibly new formats when the time is right. And the demo collection. Yes progress is slow, as always several reasons. So without any promises but with apologies–soon as possible!!

FURIBOND ELEGANCE is the title of NUIT NOIRE’s forthcoming 7″EP completed during the week of 18 May 2005. The EP consists of four tracks continuing in the vein of the material found on “Lunar Deflagration”. Fast and energetic music with light alive melodies, frantic drums and sung/desperately howled vocals! The title, Furibond, would translate to “very angry”. SHOOTING STARS A familiar start for the EP as this is possibly most like ‘Lunar Deflagration’ sound/style-wise. The shortest track (just over two minutes) it flies through the first half then leads into a slower greatly melodic part. FURIBOND ELEGANCE Track with the slowest guitar-sections. The guitar plays an isolated forlorn tune with simple cymbal and strange spring-sound effect. It does speed up for the ‘chorus’ parts and then finally rests into mid-pace, with the two-line vocal repeated over... Post Continued Here
