Record Store Day 2013 (Venom, Burzum, Mayhem, Megadeth, Judas Priest)

The increasingly popular (from 10 special releases in 2008 to over 400 last year) Record Store Day marks it’s sixth year this Saturday. Usually not much of interest relating to underground metal, and in general this year is no different, however some classic metal recordings are getting a limited edition vinyl release, so we have attempted to stock a few Record Store Day releases, all listed below.

Each of these are limited to 1000 worldwide, with only 250 made available to the UK.
Important to say, these are all legitimate copies, not from participating shops and resold (which happens a lot). We made sure these copies were ordered in only after physical shops took their stock.

Bolt Thrower – In Battle There is No Law (White/Black/Grey splatter vinyl)
Burzum – Burzum / Aske (White/Black/Grey splatter vinyl)
Burzum – Det Som Engang Var (50/50 White/Grey colour)

This is the one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day and hundreds of artists in the United States and in various countries across the globe make special appearances and performances. Festivities include performances, cook-outs, body painting, meet & greets with artists, parades, djs spinning records and on and on. Metallica officially kicked off Record Store Day at Rasputin Music in San Francisco on April 19, 2008 and Record Store Day is now celebrated the third Saturday every April.
